In Romania, the term medical assistant is used for nurse.

The professional title of medical assistant addresses general medical assistants as well as medical assistants trained in other specialties.

The official general medical assistant qualification titles that can be earned in Romania are:
  • General medical assistant with graduation diploma from vocational health schools in the specialty of general medical assistant
  • General medical assistant with short term higher education studies with graduation diploma from specialized university colleges
  • General medical assistant with long term higher education studies with a license from a university
